The Centre for Independence and Partition Studies (CIPS), University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Office of the Dean of Students' Welfare (DSW), organized a visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum on Friday, March 28, 2025. Vision of this visit was designed by Prof. Shri Prakash Singh , Director South Campus. The delegation was led by Shri Anoop Lather, PRO, University of Delhi along with Prof. Ravinder Kumar, Director, CIPS and Prof. Ranjan Kumar Tripathi (DSW). The team also included Professor Jyoti Trehan Sharma, Joint Director, CIPS; Prof. Sangeeta Gadre, Joint Dean, DSW; Professor Hena Singh, Joint Dean, DSW; and Dr. Hemant Verma, Joint Dean, Cultural Council along with 28 undergraduate and postgraduate students from the University of Delhi, admitted under the orphan category.
Shri Anoop Lather presented a souvenir to Her Excellency, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, on behalf of the University of Delhi. Director CIPS, Prof. Ravinder Kumar briefly introduced the purpose of the visit to the Honourable President. He highlighted the introduction of the orphan category as an empowerment initiative of Prof. Yogesh Singh, Honourable Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, besides other initiatives. The Honourable President appreciated this initiative taken by the University of Delhi. She also interacted with the students and encouraged the students to share their experience of University of Delhi and encouraged the students to share their experience of University of Delhi.
The interaction ended with the group photograph followed by high tea hosted by Rashtrapati Bhavan .
Post high tea the entire team was given a guided tour to witness the grandeur of the President house. Following that the team also got the opportunity to visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan museum. The officials of the Rashtrapati Bhavan very modestly and diligently hosted the entire team of University of Delhi.
